House in Lugar do Baixinho

The house is located on the most elevated part of the land, placed on its slope and turned towards the landscape – looking onto it with frontality.
The viewpoints are oriented within reason – inside and out, to see everything or just a little, so that the landscape becomes a painting – mineral and vegetable.
It is organised in three volumes in accordance with the program. On one side, the body of the atelier and the garage; in the centre, a block of bedrooms with higher elevation in order to punctuate the mass; and on the other side, the body of living spaces. In the middle, an unclouding of the parts of the scenery occurs, the separation of elements, but also their connection.
Being inside and sometimes, being inside and it seemingly like being outside – because light unites everything.
The light is vertical and hard, creating strong contrasts so that differences become identifiable – the colours and textures.
